Compared to a standard garden hose, this hose feels like it weighs a little less. On one end, there is an electrical plug you use to heat the hose, the other end has a cable that comes out but does nothing but in my option be in the way. I would also say the electrical cable is a bit of a nuisance when wrapping up the hose. The outside jacket is a soft rubber. You can't feel anything, wire wise, running through the hose but when you wrap up the hose, you can feel a difference. It is a bit more stiff than a standard rubber hose. Both ends of the hose are female but there is an included threaded male fitting that you can use on either end. There is also a small roll of plumbers tape in the package and some extra gaskets. The bright orange is very difficult to miss in the yard. Less risk of being stepped on or ran over with a garden tool.I am giving this hose a 5 star for now. I have had a lot of hoses fail over the years and I always questions longevity. With this one, I also questions how long the heating portion will work. My fear is that the heating element will eventually break due to kinks and or rolling the hose back up for storage.
