Pliers and bare hands just won't work on most of these hose clamps.I needed the pliers to remove European springClamps and the reach wasn’t clear. I tried to use the cable driven pliers but it didn’t quite work inMy situation as other stuff was in the way.This set, particularly the cable clamp tool, is VERY handy. Now I understand why the OEM's use the spring clamps. With Channellocks or similar, these clamps are a PITA to remove. With this tool, it's super easy, and with the locking feature, it's simple to orient, center, move, and then release the clamp where you want it to be. Without the tool, the spring clamp goes in the trash and a worm gear clamp goes on in place, and when the rubber hose relaxes, the connection will leak. With the spring clamps, the spring continues to clamp when the rubber relaxes, so you still have a leak free joint. With this tool, working on the spring clamps is easy.I used this on a Jeep XJ Cherokee, but man these clamps are everywhere, so this will get plenty of use. Happy I bought this.This worked really good. Can't imagine not having this set. Had a hose clamp way behind the engine and the long reach clamp worked perfectly. Some reviews said the ratchets don't all work, but mine all worked perfect. Highly recommend. Gets rid of the frustration of dealing with hard to reach hose clamps. No more sliding out of vise grips.This set came in very handy when I was swapping out an engine. Wish I got them sooner.Good value for the moneySuch a great tool, especially for engines that have heater hoses that are in between the engine and the firewall. Had to replace a heater hose on a 2jz in an is300, and these tools helped get the clamp off and on, which would have never happened with regular pliers was there was just no space. Great pricing as well.Could not have dine without this for an engine change with difficult to reach hosesHaven’t used them yet but pleasantly surprised at the sturdy box and the pliers seem decent quality.I mainly bought this kit to have the spring clamp cable tool. I decided on getting the set of tools instead of just one tool as the price is low and other tools may prove useful. The various clamp pliers appear to be adequate although the quality isn't what one would see in a much more expensive set, but then I didn't expect them to be. All in all a useful purchase.Honestly, I have not tried the item yet as I only received them a couple days ago. I’m only disappointed with the packaging. As you can see from the pictures that I attached, there are black stains all over the tools and the case it self. These stains look faded because the item stayed outside for 4 hours at -7 deg celsius and when it condensates, some of the stains were rubbed off. It’s more stained when it arrived. And I noticed some of the tools have scratches so I’m guessing they are used and it says new on the description.I just replaced the radiator and hoses in my Hyundai. This made removing the clamp and installing new ones a breeze. Worked exactly as they should, and really good value. Based on my experience I can 100% recommend this set.
