This hose lasted all of one day. My dogs have never chewed on a hose before but the outside of this hose has a texture similar to some dog chew toys. My dogs picked up on that and by the time I noticed it was too late. They had already chewed through it. On top of being disappointed with a broken hose I am now worried if they managed to eat any of the small fibers that make up the inside of the hose or if the fibers cut the inside of their mouths. I do not recommend this product for anyone with dogs.This is another generation of garden hoses meant to eliminate the kinks, stiffness and weight of tradition garden hoses. Expandable hose attempted to do this but they tend to be quite fragile and the inner portion of the hoses are prone to pin holes, breaks and leaks. The FITT flat hose appears to be more durable than expandable hoses and it rolls up for storage quite easily while weighing far less than a tradition hose (but a bit more than an expandable hose. Unfortunately the FITT hose is not really "kink free" as claimed and the hose can get in certain positions where a bend or kink occurs and the water is shut off. Fortunately, these kinks are easily undone and more importantly, the kink does not remain in the hose as it often does with a tradition rubber/plastic hose. In that sense, this FITT hose is free of "permanent" kinks and should thus, last longer and be easier to maneuver than a tradition hose. This hose is labeled as "Lite" usage and it does feel a tad on the fragile side. So I wouldn't want to pull it around the yard and put a lot of strain on it. But so far it has held up well and as long as you don't abuse it it should be quite durable. Personally, I have given up completely on expansion hoses after having more than half a dozen of them break or leak after less than a year of usage. This flat style flexible hose appears to be a viable replacement for expandable hose. But the jury is still out until we see how durable it is a year or two of usage.This is a surprisingly lightweight hose, even with water filling up the hose. I like the fact that it is flat when not used as an indicator that there is no water and it expands to a tubular shape hose. I'd say this hose is even lighter than the stretch hose i have.I am also surprised to see that the spray distance by itself (without any sprayer attachment) is quite far... I estimate 25-30 ft. I tried to spray the hose straight upwards, to see how high it would go to the siding of my house. When i did that, the water almost reached the roof. So this means I may be able to get to the cob webs or other nonsense that gathers in the hard to reach corners.I recommend straightening out the hose because it could get pinched and prevent the water feom flowing.The storage of the hose is a bit tricky... the best way to store it is to hang and look it on a hook. In my opinion, I didn't find storing the hose in the hose reel storage (the winiding kind) and a bucket to work out as well as a simple hook. Cooking up the hose after us was a bit of a pain so it was easier to hurt gather large looks and hook it up.Overall, I am surprised with the weight, spray distance, and it moved around the yard pretty easily, and storage turns out to be relatively simple...I did see the same hose at a big box hardware store for $50... so this turned out to be a pretty good deal.I would say this hose is a quarter the weight of your standard hose, so maneuvering it around the yard is a breeze. They mention in their details that it is kink-free, but is very much not. In the beginning, before water pressure has built in the hose, it is very susceptible to kinking. It's much less likely to kink once the water has built up in the hose, but the flat design of the hose seems to make kinking easier when it's depressurized. This isn't a huge deal, just something to be aware of. The fittings seems to be made out of lightweight aluminum and are machined well, so everything spins freely and the threads grab quickly.Got this because our water line is high pressure and it already burst one of the expander hoses. This is much better, feels like it holds the pressure more and is more durable. The hose itself is rubbery feeling. I kind of question the long term durability. If heavy duty hoses eventually get holes and break, I can't see this being much different. But, time will tell. So far, it's better than the expander one for high pressure. Recommended!We’ve had problems with the durability of modern stretchy hoses. We’ve tried several and they have not lasted. Happy to try this moderate duty rubber hose and it is fine. Not quite as stiff as a thicker rubber—you can see it expand when filled—but certainly more rigid than the floppy stretchy hoses. A good balance.This hose has worked great all summer. Not too heavy and a good length for jus try back porch plants
